Perpetual Natural Convection

Supporting the Shell and Asperitas collaboration, the Asperitas Perpetual Natural Convection (PNC) solution is showcased at the Shell Global Solution Technology Centre in Hamburg.

Solution

The showcase features Asperitas immersion cooling technology utilizing Shell's Immersion Cooling Fluid – a synthetic, single-phase dielectric fluid derived from natural gas via Shell's gas-to-liquids technology. This collaboration demonstrates the solution's high cooling efficiency, energy cost reduction, and potential to lower carbon emissions in datacentres.

Shell and Asperitas are committed to providing sustainable datacentre solutions. Visitors will gain insights into the benefits of immersion cooling technology, including improved performance, reduced energy consumption, and enhanced reliability for high-performance computing environments.

Asperitas and Shell continue to join forces to accelerate datacentre cooling.  Asperitas’ new Directed Forced Convection (DFC) technology, with Shell’s Immersion Cooling Fluids,  enables next-generation immersion cooling technology.  By immersing IT equipment in a purpose-built dielectric fluid, and directing it to the systems components that need it, they drastically increase thermal capacity of their solutions. This collaboration not only enhances cooling efficiency but also lowers carbon emissions, paving the way for a more sustainable future in high-performance computing.
